Low-energy factory
TWIG devices are manufactured in our low-energy factory utilizing sustainable technology: geothermal heating and cooling, advanced heat recovery, passive solar energy and maximally profiting from the natural day light. The factory insulation thickness exceeds the Finnish construction norms.
Renewable energy
Techniques employed reduce TWIG factory energy usage and CO2 footprint. All purchased energy is generated in zero-emission hydroelectric power plants.
The sustainable thinking has shown to be not only a green idea but also a way to save time and money.
Recycling and reuse
We recycle and reuse as much as possible. All plastic and cardboard arriving at our factory is reused to avoid the exceeding amount of waste. In our production we always consider the best solution to avoid waste. Our choice is to prefer the nature instead of exceeding consumption.
WEEE
TWIG production is in compliance with the WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU (Waste of electrical and electronic equipment) with intention to prevent waste of electrical and electronic equipment by re-using, recycling and using other recovery methods to reduce the disposal of waste.
ISO 14001:2015
TWIG products are designed, manufactured and marketed pursuant to the ISO 14001:2015 certified environmental system. The notified body is Eurofins Expert Services.
ISO 14001:2015 standard sets out the criteria for an environmental management system and can be certified. It maps out a framework that a company or organization can follow to set up an effective environmental management system.
Using ISO 14001:2015 can provide assurance to company management, employees and external stakeholders that environmental impact is being measured and improved. Read more about ISO certification.
REACH
TWIG personal safety devices comply with the European Chemical Agency REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of CHemical substances) Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 requirements, meaning that they do not contain dangerous substances posing a risk to human health or the environment. Read more about REACH on web site of the European Chemicals Agency in Finland.
Chemical substances
We control use of chemical substances in our low-energy factory according to REACH requirements. Furthermore, we strive at enforcing all our suppliers' compliance through maintaining records of their declarations.
As part of the supply chain we provide sufficient information to enable downstream users and distributors to take the necessary measures as regards the protection of human health, safety and the environment.
Safety data sheet
According to REACH the supplier (manufacturer, importer, downstream user or distributor) responsible for placing a chemical substance or preparation on the market, must compile a safety data sheet for chemicals intended for industrial or professional use and submit it to the recipient of the chemical.
A safety datasheet need not be supplied where dangerous substances or preparations offered or sold to the general public are provided with sufficient information to enable users to take the necessary measures as regards the protection of human health, safety and the environment, unless requested by a downstream user or distributor.
RoHS
RoHS is the abbreviation for The Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment. TWIG products do not contain hazardous substances mentioned in the RoHS 2 Directive 2011/65/EU.
Restrictions on the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment was introduced with RoHS1 Directive 2002/95/EC.
The RoHS 2 Directive 2011/65/EU extends the scope to all electronic and electrical equipment gradually including cables and spare parts.
Amplified biodiversity
Like a full offer of TWIG products also our green values are composed of many components creating a complete sustainable concept. Details matter, like the amplified biodiversity of the meadow and garden surrounding our factory.
